HVAC Technician
HVAC technicians install, maintain and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. With energy efficiency becoming a national priority and the UK government pushing for heat pump installations, HVAC is one of the fastest-growing trades. You will work on everything from domestic boilers to large commercial air conditioning systems.
What You'll Do Day-to-Day
- ✓ Installing and commissioning heating and cooling systems
- ✓ Diagnosing faults using pressure gauges and diagnostic tools
- ✓ Servicing boilers, heat pumps and air conditioning units
- ✓ Handling refrigerants safely and legally
- ✓ Advising customers on energy-efficient solutions
Qualifications You'll Need
- 📚 Level 2/3 Diploma in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems
- 📚 F-Gas certification (mandatory for refrigerant handling)
- 📚 Gas Safe Registration (for gas heating work)
- 📚 Level 3 Award in Heat Pump Systems
